Tenere is committed to continuously improving our business to offer our customers increased speed, scalability, flexibility, and technical expertise. As part of this effort, we have spent the past year moving our Mexico Sheet Metal Fabrication and Mexico Metal Stamping operations into a brand new, much larger facility in Monterrey.
We are nearly 90% moved into the plant as of the new year. Our teams have been hard at work to transition new and existing equipment without interruptions to our current programs.
At 180,000 square feet, our pristine state-of-the-art production facility has nearly doubled our usable space in Mexico. As a result, we have added new equipment and machine capacity during our transition, including laser/turret combination machines, new press brakes, and new stamping presses. Our newest fully automated lines with three new 300-ton tandem press lines and two new 250-ton gap presses will be delivered and installed to the new building by the end of Q2 in 2022.
What's next in Mexico
On top of the already much larger footprint, we are building a 75,000 sq. ft. addition on the east side of the plant, which will allow us to expand our capacity and add more dedicated automation lines. The preliminary work has already begun on this addition, meaning we are on track to be at 255,000 square feet by the end of the year.
Our actions speak for themselves, and the new facility in Mexico is yet another example of how Tenere brings excellence to our customers. This proactive approach to scaling makes us a choice partner for some of the largest companies in the technology sector. Read more about the impact of this facility in the region. We are ready for whatever the future holds and equipped to navigate the ever-changing dynamic of North American manufacturing for our customers.
